Raven’s life falls apart before her very eyes. Raven and her friends are attacked by vampires, which is bad enough because their existence was unknown to Raven. Not only that, but her friends do not survive the attack, and she is torn away from her family and life as she knows it by vampire slayers. They give her the choice to return to her life, but at the cost of her memories. She instead stays to to train in an academy of vampire slayers. She has so much pent-up rage from her recent trauma that she throws herself into her studies and training. While she trains, it becomes clear that Raven has more power than anyone else she is training with, and she quickly rises in the ranks. Her loss causes her to close off her heart, to where she is afraid to make friends or become close to anyone. However, there are other slayers that she realizes she cares about, and she slowly becomes more open again. Then, to make things even more confusing for Raven, there is a vampire prince she is forced to work with that makes her questions if she is right in thinking that all vampires are monsters. When an ancient power threatens all of humanity, will the slayers and their allies be able to stop it or will vampires take over the world?
Wow! What a interesting read! I love how strong and sassy Raven is. She has the vibes of being the toughest person in the room, and I am all for it. The characters are lovable, and the story is so detailed. There are twists and turns throughout the entire book. I was absolutely mesmerized! The writing style flowed so well that I found myself easily transported into the story. I cannot wait to read book 2! 5/5⭐️#bookreview #netgalley #signoftheslayer

My most recent read! Ophelia’s mother has passed away leaving the family legacy to Ophelia who has been sheltered her whole life for this moment. She learns that her sister leads a secret life and that her mother left the sisters an enormous amount of debt. Overwhelmed, Ophelia accidentally chases her sister away and believes that her sister has entered the notorious competition, Phantasma, to win and escape their debt. Ophelia then feels the need to enter herself into this competition that will test everything she fears to find her sister. She ends up meeting the mysterious Blackwell and makes a deal with him to be able to survive the competition. Can she make it past all the levels and find her sister in time or will she be forced to forfeit the competition to escape with her life?
I honestly about DNFed this book after a few pages. At first it seemed extremely dark and horrific, which is not my type of book. However, I gave it a chance and boy am I glad I did! This book was mysterious and exciting. There were sections of the book that had me on the edge of my seat. As a warning, there are some explicit scenes as mentioned at the beginning of the book, so beware of the content warnings. However, despite that, I loved this book! The characters were amazing, and I adored watching Ophelia discover herself and what power she had over her situations. I cannot wait to read book 2! #phantasma #bookreviews #summerreading

A vampire and a vampire slayer? I did not know I needed this in my life. It had like a Walking Dead vibe but with vampires instead. Still apocalyptic and every bit enchanting. I couldn’t put it down! I read the last 70% in one sitting. The characters were beautifully written, the villain was portrayed so evilly. It was brilliant. The plot was different. Ruby and Ripley have been raised as vampire slayers. When a mission goes wrong, and Ripley ends up a vampire, Ruby’s whole concept of the world is going to have to change to protect her. She’ll make a deal with the enemy and lie to all her friends just to protect her sister. 5/5. @entangledteen

My birthday is this month and my mom did a book buying challenge for me as my gift. I had 15 minutes to look and then 4 minutes to grab as many books as I could carry. This is what I looked like walking around the store. I definitely got some odd looks from workers and other customers! 😂 worth it though. 29 books in 4 minutes is not bad at all! #booklover #bookbuyingproblem

Currently doing the FairyLoot community readalong for The Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields. First off, this edition is absolutely gorgeous. Secondly, I am really enjoying this book. It is my first cottagecore book to read, but from page one I was hooked! I can’t wait to read the rest of this book. #HoneyFairy #fairyloot
